  • Army Sgt. Sean C. Reynolds, 25, of East Lansing, Mich.; assigned to 74th Long-Range Surveillance Detachment 173rd Airborne Brigade, Camp Ederle, Italy; killed in Iraq when his M-4 rifle accidentally discharged after he fell off a ladder he had been climbing.

  • Marine Lance Cpl. Cedric E. Bruns, 22, of Vancouver, Wash.; assigned to 6th Engineer Support Battalion, 4th Force Service Support Group, Eugene, Ore.; killed in a non-hostile vehicle accident in Kuwait.

  • Marine Lance Cpl. Nicholas Brian Kleiboeker, 19, of Irvington, Ill.; assigned to 2nd Combat Engineer Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, Camp Lejeune, N.C.; killed near Hillah, Iraq, when the munitions bunker he was working in caught fire and exploded.

  • Marine Cpl. Douglas Jose Marenco Reyes, 28, of Chino, Calif.; assigned to Light Armored Vehicle-Air Defense Battery, 4th Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, 4th Marine Division, Camp Pendleton, Calif.; killed when the transport truck in which he was riding rolled over near Samawah, Iraq.

  • Marine Sgt. Kirk Allen Straseskie, 23, of Beaver Dam, Wis.; assigned to 1st Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, Camp Pendleton, Calif.; drowned while attempting to rescue crewmembers of a Marine CH-46 Sea Knight helicopter that went down in the Shatt al Hillah Canal in Iraq.

  • Marine Staff Sgt. Aaron Dean White, 27, of Shawnee, Okla.; assigned to Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron 364, Marine Aircraft Group 39, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, Camp Pendleton, Calif.; killed in a CH-46 Sea Knight helicopter crash in the Shatt al Hillah Canal in Iraq.

  • Army Maj. Mathew E. Schram, 36, of Brookfield, Wis.; assigned to the Headquarters & Headquarters Troop Support Squadron, 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment, Fort Carson, Colo.; killed by enemy fire May 26 in Hadithah, Iraq.

  • Army Pvt. 2 Kenneth A. Nalley, 19, of Hamburg, Iowa, assigned to the 501st Military Police Company, Wiesbaden, Germany; killed in a vehicle accident in Samawah, Iraq, May 26.

  • Army Staff Sgt. Brett J. Petriken, 30, of Flint, Mich.; assigned to the 501st Military Police Company, Wiesbaden, Germany; killed in a vehicle accident in Samawah, Iraq, May 26.

  • Army Pfc. Jeremiah D. Smith, 25, of Odessa, Mo.; assigned to 1st Battalion, 34th Armor Regiment, Fort Riley, Kan.; killed when his vehicle hit unexploded ordnance in Baghdad May 26.

  • Army Staff Sgt. Michael B. Quinn, 37, of Tampa, Fla.; assigned to the 2nd Squadron, 3rd Armor Cavalry Regiment, Fort Carson, Colo.; killed by enemy fire in Fallujah, Iraq.

  • Army Spc. Jose Amancio Perez III, 22, of San Diego, Texas; assigned to 6th Battalion, 27th Field Artillery Regiment, Fort Sill, Okla.; killed May 28 when the convoy he was traveling in was ambushed in Taji, Iraq.

  • Army Staff Sgt. Kenneth R. Bradley, 39, of Utica, Miss.; assigned to the 588th Engineer Battalion, Fort Hood, Texas; died in Baqubah, Iraq, May 28. His death was non-combat related.

  • Army Spc. Zachariah W. Long, 20, of Milton, Pa.; assigned to the 519th Military Intelligence Battalion, Fort Bragg, N.C.; killed in a vehicle accident near Mosul, Iraq.
