Funeral services held for Oklahoma soldier

STILLWATER, Okla. — Hundreds of friends and family turned out for the funeral services of Army Maj. Scott Hagerty in Stillwater.

Services were June 13 at First United Methodist Church for Hagerty, who was killed June 3 by a roadside bomb while on patrol in Zormat, Afghanistan.

He was remembered as a selfless man who gave his life for his country.

Hagerty was a 1984 graduate of Stillwater High School and a 1993 graduate of Oklahoma State University.

He was a member of the Army Reserves’ 451st Civil Affairs Battalion based in Pasadena, Texas.

He’s survived by his wife, Daphne, and two sons ages 10 months and 20 months.
